Ophthalmology

Clinical Services/Features

Ophthalmology treats a wide range of internal eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment, macular holes, cellophane maculopathy, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, uveitis, and corneal disease and external eye diseases such as strabismus, amblyopia, nystagmus, ophthalmoplegia, ptosis, entropion, blepharochalasis, blepharoplasty, dacryocystitis, nasolacrimal duct obstruction (epiphora), lacerated lacrimal canaliculus, orbital tumors, orbital floor fractures, exophthalmos, blepharospasm, and facial myokymia.
Our staff, including professors, associate professors, senior lecturers, and assistant professors, utilize their own expertise to treat each disease based on the latest medical knowledge. We have new equipment for outpatient treatment, including a scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO), optical coherence tomography (OCT) machine, an automated static perimeter, a half-wavelength Nd-YAG laser (for SLT), and a PDT laser. We select the most appropriate surgical procedure, including the latest techniques such as microincision vitreoretinal surgery and cataract surgery using multifocal intraocular lenses. Relatively minimal invasive surgery on the external part of eye can be performed on an outpatient basis.
The Ophthalmology outpatient clinic can be very crowded depending on the day, so you may have to wait for a long time. We appreciate your understanding as we are trying to provide clinical services as quickly as possible.
