In Rehabilitation Medicine, we examine the general condition of patients with limb and trunk movement disorders and related disorders, and we diagnose the cause, type, and degree of the disorder. After determining whether training is necessary or possible, we begin training and treatment such as physical therapy and occupational therapy.
The treated diseases mainly include cerebrovascular disorders (cerebral infarction, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, etc.), spinal cord injury, rheumatoid arthritis, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disease, amputation, and respiratory and cardiovascular disease. We provide active training at the bedside from the acute stage immediately after the onset of the disease, improvement of the patient’s general condition before and after laparotomy or thoracotomy, and rehabilitation training to prevent immobility due to chronic diseases. Treatment is provided on a rotating basis every day with rehabilitation medicine specialists playing a central role.
In principle, we treat inpatients, but some patients continue to receive follow-up outpatient treatment for a certain period of time after discharged from the hospital. Specialty outpatient services include outpatient botulinum treatment, prosthetics, and wheelchair seating and positioning. The specialized outpatient clinic is by appointment only in principle. A referral letter is required for your first visit.
