Urology
Clinical Services/Features
Urology treats diseases of the urinary tract and male reproductive organs. Treated areas and organs include the kidneys, adrenals, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, penis, testes, and scrotum. Urology treats diseases in various fields such as cancers that occur in the organs described above, stones, and infectious diseases, as well as dysuria, sexual dysfunction, and male sterility.
We provide advanced medical care such as robotic surgery and state-of-the-art anticancer treatment, we have a sufficient number of experts in each field, and we work closely with other departments within the hospital as needed to provide attentive treatment.
In addition to the general outpatient clinic, we have several specialized outpatient clinics for several disorders. At the specialized outpatient clinic, we treat male sterility and sexual dysfunction. In recent years, the number of patients, and especially elderly men, who are suffering from prostate problems has been increasing. We have established the Prostate Center, which provides medical treatment specializing in prostate diseases such as prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia.
For cancer treatment, we perform multimodal therapy by combining surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy (anticancer treatment) as necessary. We also perform surgery using the state-of-the-art Da Vinci Xi surgical robot as a minimally invasive treatment, enabling early discharge. For patients with advanced cancer, we work with the palliative care team and social workers to decide on treatment plans.
In our department, we value team medical care in which multidisciplinary teams work together. Depending on each patient’s condition, we aim to provide the latest and best medical care by working together with all those involved in patient care, including the attending physician, all doctors in Urology, doctors from other departments, nurses, pharmacists, local medical facilities, general practitioners, and social workers.
